Our Facilities
Our classrooms are designed to be flexible and adaptable learning spaces that encourage collaboration, creativity and a sense of calm. These multi-grade spaces feature areas for both large and small group work, classroom libraries, and flexible seating arrangements that support student choice and a variety of learning styles.
Our STEAM Lab was built for creating and exploring. Students are able to use recycled materials, craft materials and art supplies to create to their hearts content. Our STEAM Lab is also designed for collaborative work with small groups for both Science and Art!
Calming Corners are safe spaces where children can self-regulate their emotions and feelings. These cozy corners, set apart from active classroom areas, provide a comfortable environment for children to manage their emotions and solve problems. Calming Corners are not intended for “time out,” but rather as a voluntary space for children to take a break and calm down.
The sensory room is a multifunctional space designed to support students’ individual sensory needs, promoting self-regulation and enhancing their readiness for learning and social interaction. It incorporates activities and interactive areas that stimulate the primary senses, including sight, hearing, smell, touch, vestibular, and proprioceptive senses. Additionally, the room serves as a small group learning space for Enrichment Clubs and other educational activities.
At A2D Academy, we believe that outdoor time is essential for our students’ well-being. Our expansive green field provides a space for students to enjoy fresh air and engage in physical activity. Students can choose to play independently, form small groups, or participate in organized games or sports. We supply a variety of equipment, such as balls, bases, chalk, bubbles, parachutes, and other outdoor gym equipment, to ensure a fun and engaging experience for all.
The City of Edina owns and manages Edinburgh Park, which is attached to our building. The park features a large gymnasium and a three-story playground with slides, monkey bars, and various climbing structures. With its year-round 70-degree temperature, thousands of live indoor plants and trees, and numerous skylights, the park provides a unique outdoor experience.
